The University of Cape Coast men and women’s beach volleyball teams have both won gold in the 26th edition of the the Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Games.
Team UCC, competing against six other universities, defended the medal they won last year.
In the male category, UCC managed to win all six games, accruing 24 points.
The University of Ghana followed with 21 points winning five out the six games and clinching the silver medal.
University for Development Studies proved a point this time as they were the 2nd runner up with 17 points which saw them winning bronze.
A tough side in the University of Education team failed to fall within the top three sides this time after a hard fought competition and ended with 14 points.
University of Professional Studies, Accra, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and the University of Health and Allied Sciences had 13, 8 and 1 points respectively.
Similarly in the women’s competition, team UCC made it five wins out five games and ended with a points of 20.
University for Development Studies also accumulated a point of 17, a close mark to the leaders and had silver with host University of Ghana winning bronze with 14 points.
