The Ghana Shooting Federation is looking to improve their current rank at the 13th African Shooting Championship which will be held in Cairo from the 20th April to the 3rd of May 2017.
Ghana will be represented by female rifle shooter Mercy Chodo who is currently ranked 6th in Africa. Her last competition saw her earn a total of 511 points out of 600 and she will be hoping to clock 555 out of 600 points in this year’s championship.
The rifle shooter will be the only athlete raising Ghana’s flag in Egypt as the 4 other athletes (all members of the armed forces) who were to represent Ghana are currently occupied with other national engagements elsewhere.
Mercy Chodo will compete in the 50m rifle prone event which is set for the 28th of April 2017.
The shooting team will leave the shores of Ghana on the 20th April 2017 to participate in the championship.
