The University of Ghana Men’s Football team urged out their counterparts from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) by a goal to nil in the ongoing triangular games hosted in Cape Coast by the University of Cape Coast (UCC).
Felix Buabeng’s 20th minute goal from the spot was enough to carry them through.
This victory ensures their 100 percent record in the games after beating UCC 2 – 1 in their first game.
The team from UG have finally avenged the defeat they suffered in the hands of their KNUST counterparts after they lost to them during the GUSA games which they hosted last year.
The event which sees only the three schools participating is just to serve as a curtain raiser ahead of the maiden edition of the Federation of African Universities Sports (FASU) football championship and also to strengthen the ties among the three schools.
