Former Black Stars striker Nii Odartey Lamptey has urged Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey to overlook interest from some giant European clubs and continue plying his trade with Athletico de Madrid.
Arsenal, Manchester United and Juventus have shown interest to sign the 26 year-old to boost their squad heading into the 2020/2021 season.
According to reports, Arsenal is leading the race to secure his signature this summer.
However, Odartey Lamptey says Partey should focus on his career with the Rojiblancos as his style of play suits the club.
Atletico are said to have opened talks with the player to extend his contract as the club is determined to keep him but sources indicate that Partey is determined to leave the club to ply his trade in England.
The contract extension which will increase his release clause from €50million euros to €100million, and will make Partey one of the highest earners at the club.
According to the assistant manager of Sekondi Wise Fighters, Odartey Lamptey, the new offer by Atletico should influence Partey to ignore offers from other clubs.
Thomas Partey was having a stellar campaign for Athletico Madrid before the break.
Thomas Partey joined Atletico from Ghana in 2011.
He had loan spells with Real Mallorca and Almeria.
Partey came through the Rojiblancos youth and made his senior debut during the 2015-2016 season.
