Popular Sports Manager and Coach of Mensah Sabah Hall, Pertras Anaab Ali also known as the Supreme Tactician has expressed his delight over the extraordinary performance of University of Ghana Athlete and fellow Viking Azameti Benjamin at the just ended 2019 Mini-GUSA games at the Coast Stadium.
Azameti prevailed over compatriot and fellow champion Ansah Sarfo in the finals of the men’s 100m.
Speaking to Univers Sports, coach Ali said he was not surprised surprised to see Azameti win the 100m because he has done it since antiquity.
‘He is the best in University of Ghana, and therefore he can be the best in Ghana.’
He stood in for the the Executive of the Mensah Sarbah hall and the “OKPO” fraternity to congratulate Benjamin for attaining such feat.
He also edged the handlers of the Ghana National Athletics team to keep eyes on the young man who is only 20 years as he believes that with the right guidance and training he can grow to be a world champion. ‘
I have had the chance to work with him here at Mensah Sarbah Hall, all he needs is proper training and exposure to competitions because he can do more if we push him, I think he could be more serious.
Azameti has to put in more effort if he intends to compete for Ghana and make the qualifying times for the All African games and Olympic Games which is 10.00sec.
Apart from Ghana’s duo of Leonard Myles-Mills (9.98sec) and Aziz Zakari (9.99sec), no Ghanaian 100m men’s Athlete have made the cut in the 100m event for many years
