He added that a 23-man squad of players has been named to participated.
It is true Ghana has been invited for esports association world cup. Pro clubs have been in Ghana for a while but hasn’t gain that exposure so I this invitation is an opportunity to show our strength in the virtual football arena. It is also an opportunity to give more leverage to more gamers because it is not an individualistic game. This is a team based game where each member of the football team is represented by a gamer. And they are playing from their various home so we have named a 23 man squad of players who have the ability to play.
Kwesi Hayford affirmed his belief in the team, tagging it as a fine blend of strong performers, and is optimistic of a good showing when Ghana comes up against group opponents, Panama, Malta and Paraguay.
“It’s a wonderful feeling that we have been grouped together with Panama, Malta and Paraguay and we believe we can do something. We have a strong team, we are not doing selection or qualifies. We are selecting the best pro team in Ghana together with the 2nd best pro team to compete,” he added
He also announced that the Association will formalize its pro team leagues to select ex-players from various teams to form a national pro team after the e-sports world cup.
“After this tournament, what we will do is that we are going to formalize our pro team leagues so that we will have more leagues where can select ex- players from each team and put them together to form a national pro team. But for this particular world cup it is too late to organize a tournament to select players that’s why are banging our hopes to support our players,” he said
