President Akufo-Addo has described Asamoah Gyan’s meeting with coach Kwesi Appiah as the “way to go”.
His comment was in reply to photos posted on Twitter by the Black Stars striker after meeting with coach Kwesi Appiah on Tuesday to smoke the peace pipe.
There were reports that all was not well between Kwesi Appiah and the Kayserispor forward.
Asamoah Gyan had earlier announced his resignation from the Senior Male National team after he was reportedly stripped of the captain’s arms band.
However, following an intervention from the President, Asamoah Gyan rescinded on his decision and said that he was available for selection for the 2019 African Cup of Nations, scheduled to commence in June.
Ghana’s all-time leading scorer was subsequently named in Kwesi Appiah’s 29 man provisional squad for the tournament which will be held in Egypt.
President Akufo-Addo retweeted a photo posted by Gyan after the meeting with the comment: ”Way to go.”
