Former University of Cape Coast athlete, Latifa Ali, has lamented the poor conditions Ghanaian athletes face in their career.
Speaking on the Sports Xpress Show, the 2020 GUSA 200m race champion indicated that Ghana lacks good track fields for athletes to compete considering what is being used in the USA and other advanced countries.
“We don’t have good tartan tracks in the country and we lack good food to eat as athletes but over here in the states conditions are better than what we use to get in Ghana,” he said.
The athlete, who is currently studying at the Coppin State University in the USA, added that unlike Ghana, the western countries organize competitions for athletes periodically to hone and improve their skills and career.
Meanwhile, she has commended Prof. Dodoo for helping Ghanaian athletes gain scholarships to foreign universities to enable them reach their maximum potentials.
