Popular media personality, John Osei Tutu Agyeman, better known in the media space as JOT Agyeman has just graduated from the University of Ghana with a Master of Arts degree in Theatre Arts with a Final Grade Point Average of 3.96. He also becomes the Valedictorian for the School of Graduating Studies Theatre Arts class of 2020.
Giving his valedictory speech at this year’s virtual Congregation ceremony, John Tutu Agyeman Osei commended the University for being able to ensure a successful completion of the 2019/2020 Academic year despite the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Let me pay tribute to the management of the University of Ghana for ensuring that in spite of the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, innovative and creative ways were found to ensure the completion of studies and the sustenance of students both on-campus and off-campus. We are truly grateful” He said.
Further speaking, He urged the University to rethink its modus operandi with courses relating to industry specification in order to remain in the competition as a centre of excellence.
“The University of Ghana has the challenge of rethinking its modus operandi with regards to courses offered to reflect industry specification, existential threats, labour markets and others in order to stay at the top and compete as the centre of excellence in the ever-changing global order”
The University is expected to graduate about 2,750 students comprising of about 130 Ph.D. degrees, 500 Mphil degrees, and the remainder from other Masters programs offered in the University
