Commonwealth, Sarbah hall brawls to end – Dean of students affairs

The 2017 University of Ghana Student’s Representative Council [UG-SRC] excellence award has been successfully held at the Great hall, in the University of Ghana.

The event also doubled as the swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected SRC executives led by Daniel Otting-Awuah.

In attendance was the Member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Hon. Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko, the Youth Organizer of the NPP, Sammy Awuku, Public Relations Officer of the University of Ghana, Stella Amoah and the Dean of Students Affairs Prof. Francis Nunoo amongst other invited dignitaries.

Radio Univers Head of Online, Jude Mensa Duncan beat six other contenders to win the best student journalist award with Commonwealth hall’s Robert Armah Dalmeida winning the most coveted influential student award.

Also awarded on the night by the out-gone SRC administration was head of Univers TV, Emmanuel Dzivenu for his ‘dedicated service and commitment to the student union’

Mensah Sarbah hall won the Junior Common Room (JCR) of the year award for the second year running.

Committee Member of the Year – Edinam Blege of the Year.

Passport Committee -Committee Head of the Year.

Neeyi Afful Tetteh (Academic Affairs Committee)- Committee head of the year.

Departmental Association of the Year – Political Science Students Association (POSSA).

JCR President of the Year – Richmond Sam Quarm (Elisabeth Frances Sey).

JCR of the Year – Mensah Sarbah Hall JCR.

Sports Personality of the Year – Joel Tham.

Music Group of the Year – Jubilee Choir.

Club/Society of the Year – University of Ghana Debate Society.

Creative Artist of the Year – Gombilla The Poet.

Debater of the Year – Aurelia Abena Attipoe

Writer of the Year – Nana Yaa Asantewaa

Student Journalist Of The Year – Jude Mensa Duncan.

Student Activist of the Year – Eugene Agyei.

Student Entrepreneur of the Year – Jeffrey Yeboah (Ripples Interior).

Most Influential Student of the Year – Robert Armah Dameilda.
