Valuables including laptops, mobile phones and money have been reported missing by some University of Ghana Distance Education students who came to the university campus to write an exam.
The students, numbering about seven, identified themselves as nursing students.
The incident is said to have happened on Saturday, July, 6, 2019.
According to the students, after they had finished with their exams, they were unable to locate their items which had been left under the care of a security man who they identified as “Adu” at the venue.
“We left our bags with the security man. One of us left her pen in her bag so she decided to go back and take the pen, she realized that the bag was not there. So she queried the security man and they he said he hasn’t seen the bag and nobody has been around, so she came to write. After the paper we also discovered that so many of us had also lost our bags. We asked him again and he said he did not see anybody around meanwhile we left it in his care, one of the students recounted.
The reported items, which are feared to be stolen, include a black bag containing an HP laptop, a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge smartphone, a Nokia phone, a red purse containing 60cedis, ATM cards and a Voters ID card.
Other missing items include school books, a Samsung phone, and a wallet containing 10 Cedis.
The students say they have already made a complaint to the campus security to help them find their items.
