Awutu Senya East Member of Parliament, Mavis Hawa Koomson, is trending on social media for her performance before Parliament’s Appointments Committee.
She is hoping to be approved as the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture.
Ghanaians, even before the vetting ended, took to social media to express their disappointment in some answers the Minister’deisgnate provided to questions she was asked.
Some have even criticized her demeanor, saying that she lacks the needed confidence to lead the sector.
Did we swap Afoley Quaye for Hawa Koomson? Are we really serious? We are joking with livelihood and food security? A clear case of a square peg in a round whole. Ah, whew!

I'll be very surprised if the appointments committee really clears Hon. Mavis Hawa Koomson to be Fisheries and Acquaculture minister. She doesn't cut. She seems to know little to nothing about the portfolio she's going to handle. I want more women in government but not like this.

So far, nearly 80% of respondents have answered in the negative.
Would you want parliament to approve Hawa Koomson as Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, considering her performance before the Appointment Committee?
