It can be observed that some lecture halls on the University of Ghana main campus are in a deplorable state. The likes of the N-Block and the New N-Block are yet to be fully furnished.
As at Monday August 27 when school is expected to be in full swing, these edifices are still undergoing refurbishing.
The age-old walls of these lecture halls are crawling with moulds and are yet to be painted.
It is also evident on the walls recent abrasive works (cement plastering).
Also, the ceiling to N1 has been removed with wires running free across the length of the hall. The wall electrical circuits have been left in the open. This is of great danger to the students that patronize the place. It is also of growing concern that no notice of caution has been served to the students that use the edifice,
Speaking to some students they were disappointed at the development and slow pace of work at the lecture hall. They were of the purview that renovation works could have been carried out during the three (3) month vacation period.
The students by this are calling on the appropriate authorities to expedite renovation works to facilitate effective teaching and learning.
