Bayelsa State Government of Nigeria has declared a three-day fasting period ahead of its November elections.
The fasting, is from Monday, July 1 – Wednesday July 3, 2019.
According to a statement signed by the Special Advisor to the Governor on Religious Affairs, Pastor Samuel S. John-Peters, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, the fasting is necessary to seek for God’s guidance in the election of a new Governor.
Prayers on July 1 and July 2 will be held at the Chief DSP Alamieyeseigha Memorial Banquet Hall, Government House.
July 3’s will come off at Bayelsa State Ecumenical Centre, Igbogene.
The statement further urged citizens to partake in the fast and pray that the election, which will be held in November, will be peaceful.
