The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection has called on the National Media Commission to order media organizations in the country stop granting interviews to George Lutterodt, popularly known as Counselor from making Lutterodt.
This follows Mr. Lutterodt’s comments on Accra-based Adom TV, saying that victims of rape enjoy the act.
Mr. Lutterodt’s statement, however, attracted damning responses from several personalities.
The Gender Ministry, in a statement signed by Madam Cynthia Morrison, condemned Mr. Lutterodt’s contribution and urged the National Media Commission to ban him from appearing on media platforms.
“The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection strongly condemns George Lutterodt’s contribution on Adom TV in an interview, in which he stated that he feels rape victim enjoy the act of being raped.”
“There is no justification what so ever for him to make such malignant statements on Television or in private. We call on the Ghana Media Commission to ban him from appearing on tier shows,” part of the statement reads.
They Ministry also called on the Ghana Psychological Council to take action against Mr. Lutterodt, describing him as a threat and danger to the public.
“We also call upon the Ghana Psychological Council to take the appropriate action against him. His beliefs on rape is disgusting and he is a threat and danger to the general public.”
Meanwhile, they want Mr. Lutterodt to “unreservedly retract his unsubstantiated and insensitive statement and apologize to the general public.
