According to the statement, the President’s decision is based on sections 20(1) and 31 of the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), which apply to all workers, including public office holders such as the Auditor-General.
But Mr. Domelovo, replying the President, says that such a directive breaches the country’s labour law, thus making it unconstitutional.
He also believes that the directive from the President is because his work is embarrassing the government.
The Auditor-General added that the decision by the President was not taken in good faith.
Mr. Yaw Domelovo’s response to the President has earned him a lot of praises on social media, with some acknowledging his guts.
