5:30pm: Political Science student Daniel Awuah Otting leads polls in 8 out of 16 poling centers in the just ended SRC election run-off, provisional indicate.

12:55pm: Voting started in Volta Hall at 9:30 am, 30 minutes behind schedule due to a hitch in the internet server, a situation which was corrected with the help of software developer Stephen Ato Forson. No anomaly recorded so far. The process has been plain sailing and turn out is also encouraging, reporters say.
12:46pm: Jean Nelson Aka and Elizabeth Francais Sey Halls record considerable voter turnout with 124 and 134 ballots cast respectively as at noon.
12:40pm: Confusion surfaces at Akuaffo Hall polling station. Univers News’ Philip Abutiate explains that an electorate got infuriated after being questioned by an unnamed lady as to whether he possessed an identification card, sparking a heated argument. Calm has however been restored at the scene and voting is underway in a smooth manner. Voter turnout is good.
12:37 pm: Accra City Campus of the University of Ghana has seen a calm atmosphere so far with students turning up at the various polling centers in their numbers to vote. 300 ballots have been cast as it stands.
11: 10 am: Concerns are raised about some students at the Korle Bu campus who are allowed by the Electoral officer to cast their ballots after presenting an identification tag.
However, Chairman of the SRC Electoral Commission, Godwin King Nyamador tells Univers News that the initiative is a legitimate approach to ensure that every electorate has an equal chance to exercise their franchise in this year’s elections.
11:00 am: Macho men throng polling center at Korle Bu causing tension at the premises. Security personnel on the scene however restore calm to the center. Turn out is impressive, reports indicate.
10: 30 am: Vandals Boycott Elections
Residents of the Commonwealth Hall rescind from exercising their franchise on election day. This move is reported to be in line with reactions against the current SRC administration’s unpreparedness to protect the Hall’s inrterest following the cancellation of their week celebration.
