The Electoral Commission of Ghana has extended its intended time to declare the results of the 2020 presidential elections.
In a statement released on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the Commission explained that the new move is “to ensure [that] the collation of results from the Constituency and Regional Collation Centers across the country is accurate.”
”The new timeline will be communicated shortly,” the statement added.
The EC earlier planned to declare the presidential results 24hours after the polls had taken place.
The official announcement of the winner was to take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 5pm.
