Out of 12 bands that performed at the Casa Africa’s Vis-à-vis musical competition, which took place on March 15 and March 16 at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, the Fra Band and Kyekyeku & Ghanalogue highlife band have come out tops.
The two bands will represent Ghana at the summer festival in Spain.
The event was organized by Spain’s public diplomacy institution, Casa Africa Creative Arts Council, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the Spanish Embassy in Accra, the Ghanaian Embassy in Madrid and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).
It is aimed at fostering the presence of African music in Spain through music festivals.
The Ghana Vis-à-vis musical competition is the 10th edition of this project, and has already been held in nine other African Countries.
