The National Concern Drivers Association of Ghana have thrown their weight behind the directive by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo to reduce the number of passengers per row in their vehicles.
Although the Association believes the move is commendable, it is appealing to the government to reduce fuel prices in Ghana, as is being observed in the foreign markets to serve as motivation for drivers to keep on working in these times
Moreover, drivers have been asked to make provisions for hand sanitizers in their vehicles so that passengers can use for their protection and safety..
“We are asking all drivers to do well and get hand sanitizers in their cars for passengers to use. We are pleading with the government to further reduce the prices of fuel for us as the price of fuel on the foreign market keeps dropping. This will encourage many drivers to work and service our dear country Ghana.”
The Association has also praised the media for educating the public on the precautionary measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus and called on Ghanaians to stay in their respective homes if they have nothing essential to attend to outside, to prevent the communal spread of the virus.
’’We also like to commended the media for their tremendous work, educating the masses on how to end COVID-19 pandemic. We are again calling on all well meaning Ghanaians to stay in their respective homes if they have nothing important to do outside.’’
