Former Black Stars skipper, Stephen Appiah is among a few Ghanaians who played for a top Italian side and enjoyed their spell.
Stephen Appiah, between 2003 and 2005 featured in 48 games for Juventus, scoring three goals.
He managed to secure a move to the Old Ladies after a spectacular moment at Parma.
Juventus paid Parma €2 million in the summer of 2003 to secure Appiah’s services on loan, with an option to a permanent €6 million transfer in 2004.
Today, Saturday, May 9, Juventus is celebrating his incredible finish against Sampdoria during the 2003/2004 season.
Powering from outside the 18-yard box, Stephen Appiah’s shot was beyond the reach of Sampdoria’s goalkeeper, Luigi Turci, as the ball bounced in front of him before entering the net.
That game ended with Juventus winning 2-0.
