It’s the second day of January and the English Premier League is getting more exciting. Here are Sir Kay’s Premier league predictions for Match-day 21;
Bournemouth Vs Watford (Wednesday 7:45pm)
Things escalate really quickly in this league. Few weeks ago we were singing Bournemouth praises and they’ve just had a week to forget conceding 9 goals and scoring just one in two matches.
Watford played well against Newcastle and did well by coming back from behind to salvage a point though I think they should have won that one easily. This will be a close call but I tip Bournemouth to bounce back here.
Sir Kay Predicts: 3-1
Chelsea Vs Southampton (Wednesday 7:45pm)
Chelsea totally dominated the game and simply shut out shop as Crystal Palace failed to register a single shot on target.
I felt Southampton were still in the game after Hojbjerg’s equalizer and could have gotten something from the game had they gone into halftime 1-1 but that own goal from Ward-Prowse took the steam out of them and they never got back into the game from there.
Chelsea will win this one here as I don’t see Southampton causing them any dangers.
Sir Kay Predicts: 2-0
Huddersfield Town Vs Burnley (Wednesday 7:45pm)
Huddersfield played well at the Craven Cottage and had some couple of chances to have won the game. Sean Dyche will be relieved that his side finally got a victory after going 4 games without any.
Burnley will make it difficult for Huddersfield here and be happy to come away with a point. I’ll go for a Huddersfield win here since they need it badly and if they don’t win here then they should start saying goodbye to the Premier League.
Sir Kay Predicts: 2-1
Wolves Vs Crystal Palace (Wednesday 7:45pm)
Wolves have been the giant slayers this season as they have caused the big boys in the league a lot of problems. I will fancy them winning here since Palace simply don’t look like scoring at the moment.
Sir Kay Predicts: 2-0
Newcastle Vs Man Utd (Wednesday 8pm)
This Man Utd team have been simply amazing in the past 2 weeks since the departure of Mourinho though it is still early days yet and most people will argue they still have a lot to prove against the big sides.
All the players look confident on the ball and Paul Pogba is making things happen for them. Solsjkjaer will simply love his first 5 competitive fixtures in charge as Caretaker manager since it has given them the chance to build momentum and catch up with the leading pack.
Newcastle must not concede first here or else it will really be a long night for them at the St James park. Man Utd have to win here to keep piling pressure on Arsenal and Chelsea, and they will be looking to keep a clean sheet here though I don’t see that happening.
Sir Kay Predicts: 1-3
Man City vs Liverpool (Thursday 8pm)
Just like Pep Guardiola said after they’re win against Southampton on Sunday, if City lose here, the title race will definitely be over for them as City looks like the only side that can stop Liverpool now. City will need to be at their very best against Klopp’s men who seems to be getting stronger and stronger as the weeks go by.
If Kevin De Bruyne and Fernandinho play in this one then City can get a result here, other than that Liverpool will dominate this one as they will be happy to allow City take control of the possession and rather catch City on the counter. For the sake of the premier league being more competitive I’ll go for a City win here and I expect there to be a lot of goals here at the Etihad stadium as compared to the goalless first round fixture they played at Anfield.
Sir Kay Predicts: 3-2
