The Serie A just got better as AC Milan is seen hoping to maintain a Champions League spot.
The Partenopei are eager to keep up the chase on Juventus, while the Old lady may not be too content with a draw going into match day 23.
Roma, Atlanta are a point away from brilliance and everything could change as we zoom into another exciting series of encounters.
Fiorentina have proven to be a hard nut to crack this season, but the fact that they are not winning games makes it difficult to believe that they have the guts to beat Napoli. The Viola have won just seven games in the Serie A this season and had to dig deeper to find the equalizer in their last game against Udinese that ended in a stalemate in what was Fiorentina’s 10th drawn game.
Coach Stefano Pioli has reacted well engaging in good activity during the January transfer window, and has found a good counterpart for striker Stephano Chiesa after bringing in Luis Muriel from Sevilla. He has registered 3 goals already in three Serie A games and will be looking to continue against title contenders Napoli.
The Viola have had a poor run at home, winning only once in their last six home games and it appears the home advantage may not matter much despite playing at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Carlo Anchelotti’s men may be favorites on paper, but as the saying goes, the game is not played on paper. The Partenopei boast of a relatively better goal scoring record, but they failed to put up a good show in their last two outings, not scoring in the last two away games.
They however boast decent record against the Viola loosing only one of their last nine meetings against Fiorentina. Lorenzo Insigne, Arkaduisz Milik put up a good show against Sampdoria, as the Naples side dispatched in-form Fabio Quaglirela’s side far too easily than we expected.
Napoli now trail Juventus on nine points after the League Leaders drew with Parma over the weekend. With the title on the line, it is difficult to believe the Partenopei will mess up again.
JUVENTUS vs SASSULO
The Bianconieri are the only unbeaten side in Europe’s Top-5 leagues after Lyon ended PSG’s Cinderella ride. Juventus have managed 19 wins and two losses. A remarkable feat which has been inspired greatly by talisman Christiano Ronaldo.
Ocassionally they have shown signs that make us believe that they could slip, with the Parma game being a typical example. There are still big absentees with Centre-back trio of Giorgio Chiellini, Leonardo Bonucci and Andrea Barzagli all still on the sidelines.
It is highly possible that Rugani and Caceres may be called to task. Massimiliano Allegri will be looking to reshuffle his line up as champions league resumes at midweek, a situation which will please the Neroverdi. Amongst the two sides Juventus will be the least perturbed of the two sides having beaten their opponents by a 7-0 scoreline exactly a year ago, but will have to be weary of the host.
For Sassulo, thei season has turned on its head after a very bright start. The Nerovedi have won only two of their last eleven games and have seen a drastic decline in form. Roberto de Zerbi and the fans are beginning to cope with life without Kevin Prince Boateng who departed to Barcelona in January.
They lie 11th on the league table. Alfred Duncan has been instrumental in the Sassulo set up, but the Ghanaian will miss out on the big game due to suspension. Khouma Babacar has been in good goal scoring form and have found the net in their last two games. After matching Internazionale and boot-for-boot, The Old lady will not want to be complacent as they visit the Stadio Citta del Tricolore.
PARMA vs INTERNAZIONALE
Games between Parma and Inter have always been keenly contested, but the Nerrazuri have won nineteen of the forty-nine meetings with Parma winning sixteen times. Parma will be more confident coming into this game after holding league leaders Juventus to a draw, after the Gervinnio brace.
However, they have a poor record at home winning only one of their last six, and even failing to score four of these games. Inter have been facing the same issues in front of goal, and may have now understood that their recent performances may have pushed them out of the title race.
That loss to Cagliari was so unforgivable and has raised big questions on Spalleti’s future. Icardi has been missing, Ivan Perisic has been so unlucky and the big names as well as the new signings have not given enough value for money. Coach Luciano Spalletti will want to end this worring trend quickly, but the Crociati are equally eager to steal the points as well.
Gervinho, Inglese and Biabiany make a deadly attacking trio and will be waiting to pounce on the regular mistakes of the leaking Inter defence. Parma has managed an average of two goals in their last three matches Inter milan will need to produce more than just big names to beat the Crociati.
AC Milan vs Cagliari
Cagliari have conceded thirty-one goals in just 22 league games this season and have guided only four victories so far. It has been a season to forget for them but the battle to avoid the drop and see relegation could inspire Roland Maran and his Charges to fight for their lives. Leonardo Pavelleti has been a bright spot in a dark rossoblu season. He saved the face of the team in that draw against empoli at Injury time and will be epected to carry the team on his shoulder. The Rossonieri on the other hand, have had a very wonderful start to the year. They have lost only once in the Italian super cup final. Kryzysztof Piatek has proven to be very dangerous to every defence and his pace mixed with his jittery movement and eye for goal makes him a threat. After hiting Napoli he got another against As Roma he has 14 goals. Creative midfielder Suso, has created most goals than all other players and his defence splitting passes are not easy to deal with. Timoue Bakayoko has been very impressive and has become the rock of the Rossonieri defence with Lucas Paqueta and Diego Laxalt added to the pack, Milan are beginning to look like the side we all expect. Gennaro Gattuso still expects more from his charges and will be expecting nothing more than a big scoreline from his Side.
