Ghana’s representative in the CAF Confederations Cup, Kumasi Asante Kotoko failed to get a single point in match day three in group C of the continental inter-club championship against Kalampa based club Nkana FC in Zambia.
The porcupine warriors lost to Nkana FC by three goals to one which narrows their hopes of making it to the quarter final of the competition
The hosts broke the virginity of the game in the 21st minute through a penalty taken by Freddy Tshimenga after Kotoko’s Abdul Ganiyu brought down Bwalya in the 18-yard box.
Songne Yacouba responded swiftly as he equalized through a free kick which leveled the game.
24 year old Zambian, Ronald Kampamba had a brace in the 26th and the 53rd minutes which secured all three points for the home side.
Former Dreams FC and Ashanti Gold defender, Richard Ocran, who currently plies his trade for Nkana FC was sent off for a second bookable offence for elbowing Yacouba.
The result has left C.K. Akonnor’s side bottom of Group C with three points while Nkana FC tops the group with six points
The two sides will battle it out again on match day four of the competition in Kumasi on March 3.
