The Ghana Rugby Lague Championship is in full flow and ahead of the crunch encounter between Skolars Rugby League Club and Bulls Rugby League Football Club on Sunday 6th May, 2021, assistant captain of Bulls Rlfc Nigel Sackey has prompted Skolars RLC that they could be in for a rude awakening as he believes victory can be theirs.
Bulls, who are the the defending champions, tasted defeat on the opening day but bounced back with a less than impressive victory over Nungua Tigers who are debutants in the league.
They go into their match against Skolars as underdogs with Skolars RLC who sit pretty on top of the league log after impressive consecutive victories on match day 1 and 2.
Looking forward to their next match UniversSports interacted with Nigel Sackey who was adjudged the man of the match in Bulls RLFCs last match he quoted a phrase in Ga roughly translated to “we don’t learn how to play in the cemetery” which according to him shows that no club is invincible.
Even if we lose which I doubt we will, we will give them a tough game and they will know. I have a coach, Jafaru, he always says in Ga “Akase enɛ yɛ Awudome” meaning you don’t learn this in the cemetery. I believe the best of squads can be beaten as long as your team trains hard and trains together as a unit so trust we will give them a tough game.
Speaking on the narrow victory against Nungua Tigers, he explained that Tigers put up much more of a fight than expected.
To be honest there was complacency on our side since we thought we were going to walk over them but they beefed up their squad and were tougher.
Match day 3 of the Rugby League Championship will kickoff at 1pm at the Legon Rugby Field.
