E-sports Ghana is set to launch the Read To Play electronic games competition at the ongoing Ghana Book Fair in Accra.
This is part of the new initiatives aimed at using electronic games to educate children through reading in order to harness their potentials.
Speaking exclusively to Univers Sports, President of the association, Mr. Kwesi Hayford mentioned that he believes that initiative is a good platform to educate children through reading.
“Kidi e-sports is a platform to use e-games to educate children through reading in order to harness their potential for e-sports because when you look at how the games were made, their intended market were for children who were once the paramount users but now, the development of e-sports has been for the elite gamers leaving the kids out. So this is an opportunity for children to experience the same level of entertainment, influence, competitive spirit and others which we are trying to inculcate into the children through the Read To Play”. he said
Awards and medals will be handed out to the deserving participants who will excel and pass the criteria set by the association.
The Ghana International Book Fair is a three-day event held annually in the country. Book vendors and authors across the country converge to advertise and sell their stock.
