West Texas A&M track sensation, Benjamin Azameti, came first in the 60m dash to help his school finish second at the 2020 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, held in Lubbock, Texas.
The former University of Ghana athlete came racing out of the blocks and finished first with a time of 6.71s on Saturday at the TTU Sports Performance Center in Lubbock.
Another former athlete of the University of Ghana, Desmond Aryee, came in 3rd with a time of 6.82s.
Azamati tied his school record in the prelims on Friday and with this win, becomes the fourth West A&M athlete to win the 60-meter dash.
Earlier this month, Azamati, in breathtaking style broke, the 60-meter dash school record for WT A&M in his first-ever career race for the University with a time of 6.69s.
Benjamin Azameti is the 2019 Ghana’s fastest human champion whilst Desmond Aryee previously held that title in 2017.
