Black Stars B Coach Maxwell Konadu, has been speaking on the performance of the team as they go into the final of the WAFU Cup Competition and why he chose Shafiu Mumuni as the skipper for the side.
According to the former Asante Kotoko boss, his team, over the last six years, keep improving and he believes they will play a much better game in the final against Senegal.
The coach added that their semifinal game against the Ivorians saw them outplaying his lads although they won.
“I have been with this team for the past six years and we keep improving year after year. We will play a much better football than we did against Cote D’Ivoire although we won but they played better than us”
Speaking on why he appointed Shafiu Mumuni as the skipper for the side, he revealed that the Ashanti Gold Sporting Club forward was chosen due to his level of experience with the team and he believes he had lived up to the expectation.
“He plays for Ashgold, he has been playing in the CAF confederations cup. He has been with the team for so long and has a lot of experience and that is why we think he should be the captain for the side”
The Black stars B will face Senegal in the final of the WAFU CUP after the Senegalese following a 2-0 victory over Mali.
The final will be played on October 13, 2019 at the Stade Lat Dior.
