A hat-trick from Ashanti Gold Sporting club skipper, Shafiu Mumuni, was enough to see the Black Stars B side ease past Ivory Coast in the semifinal stage of the WAFU Competition.
The Ashanti Gold skipper snatched the go-ahead goal before the half time whistle by firing home after a goalmouth.
He later on added the second goal in the match in the first minutes of the second half of the game.
Six minutes into the second half, he scored again through a header from inside the box after a prosaic delivery from Latif Anabila to paralyze the Ivorians of staging a comeback.
The Ivorians pulled one back through a free kick which looked innocuous but slipped through the armpit of goalkeeper Eric Ofori Antwi.
The hat-trick from the Skipper makes him the first player to achieve such feat in the competition.
Ghana now awaits the winner of the next semi final game featuring Senegal and Mali.
The game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 9, 2019.
