Coronavirus crushes cities, countries, and continents but Christ reigns…Man is fragile
Globally – 332,930 confirmed cases
Deaths – 14,510
In Ghana; 52 confirmed, 2 deaths
Source: WHO data as of 24th March 2020.
The facts: As 24th March 2020, of the 185 samples of the 1030 persons under compulsory quarantine tested positive for COVID19. This represents 14% bringing the figure to 52 up from the existing 27. More test results expected. At least about 845.
Dear friends, I sincerely believe the background to COVID19 as at this point is irrelevant.
It’s barely noticeable.
COVID19 is threatening the lives of humankind and unfortunately, humans are dying like flies.
This is ubiquitous, perhaps battling to rob God of His omnipresent attribute.
At my age, I have never seen such menace register fear in the heart of the confident, even the “technologically inclined”.
Everything has come to a standstill.
What is business, economics, technology, IT, marine & fisheries, mathematics, and electronics. Name them all and you will find out that indeed a healthy nation builds a wealthy nation.
Coronavirus has taken the wheel of health and the effect is what we are battling with at present on all fronts.
Businesses, schools, churches, and mosques closed, countries locked down, sports, entertainment, etc suspended indefinitely. Countries are wailing and the death toll keeps skyrocketing.
Running through WHO’s preventive measures on COVID19, I become wide-eyed as to how the “normal” absence of everyday personal hygiene could be the antidote to fighting the enemy ruining man.
The virus keeps pushing harder although all physical measures in man’s capacity have been deployed.
Prime Minister of Italy had little to say but surrender all to the Lord. P
resident Akufo Addo is quoted to have said: “These are not ordinary times”.
But the question begs; given the above, can man win the battle alone?
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NIV): “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
The President declared Wed 25th March as a national day dedicated to fasting and prayers.
Will you join?
Brothers and sisters, let me state categorically that man is weak, yet we need to triumph over COVID19.
The protective masks, gloves, hand sanitizers, soap, etc will keep the virus away but who will help keep the virus afire and extinguished.
Man so fragile ‼‼
Sadly, people are storing up groceries and foodstuffs as the situation gets dire.
Oh yes! The effect has always been clear.
The nourishment of the flesh shrewd canality.
This shall soon pass.
Are you not amazed at how man is fearful of the inevitable death but untimorous of what really happens after death.
After death what next? Wish the 14,510 departed could answer but NO!
Revelations 14:13 (NIV):
“Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them.”
Dear Friends, let me submit to you that it is the Lord that provides wisdom and knowledge to man to halt this pandemic.
Proverbs 2:6 (NIV)
For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. At this point,, we need to join hands as one people to fight the deadly virus.
Physically, man’s power ends at washing your hand, using alcohol-based sanitizer, avoiding crowded places, calling via phone if you have cough, fever or difficulty breathing.
To conclude, personally I see this crisis lasting but for a short moment.
Say a prayer for the world. Don’t fear coronavirus! Fear the Lord for a victory!
Keep alive and Stay Safe
See you on the happy side when all is done and over
