Yesterday, President Nana Akufo-Addo interacted with the Ghanaian media at the seat of government, Jubilee House.
At yesterday’s media encounter, which was the President’s second in 2018, the president spoke on some key national issues and later allowed for questions from the press.
After the meeting, UniversNews took to social media to note what some Ghanaians make of it.
Generally, there was dissatisfaction as they complained of little time given the press to ask their questions and the President’s apparent hurry to leave the meeting for another engagement.
For award-winning journalist, Manasseh Azure, yesterday’s Presidential encounter was the worst he has ever witnessed.
The worst presidential encounter with the media I have witnessed in my life. This is my view and I have the right to hold it.

From John Essel, the responses from the President to the questions posed to him was not as expected.
This turned out not to bring the feedback expected. Quite Sad but this encounter with thr media could have waited if the First Gentleman of the land was not ready as we observed #NanaSpeaks

A further comment from Mawu-nya on Twitter described the President’s responses as “irrelevant and myopic”
#NanaSpeaks we just wasted our time to listen to irrelevant and myopic responses. Ghana is fast becoming a shithole country indeed.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa, Sulemana Braimah on Citi TV’s Point of View called for the non-organization of future meetings between the President and Press as this yesterday’s meeting was “poorly organized” and the purpose not achieved.
If this is how the President media encounter is going to be, then we might as well scrap the whole idea because it did not serve purpose, it was poorly organised – Sulemana Braimah [Executive Dir, MFWA] #PointofView #NanaSpeaks pic.twitter.com/D4CPzLy7Mh

Below are some more comments from Andy, Nii Kpakpa, Joseph Kofi Frimpong Ackah-Blay and Ernest Kojo Manu
Why did the president seem clueless on some of the questions? No knowledge of the fire that gutted the central medical stores? #NanaSpeaks
