The Public Relations Officer of the Police Hospital, DSP Nketiah-Yeboah has rubbished claims that injured and dead victims have been brought to the Police Hospital.
He stated that even before UniversNews arrived at the hospital, they had heard of such reportage and were forced to do a thorough check through their files and their wards in order to detect cases as such.
“I have gone round with you even to the mortuary and we have verified, there is nothing like that”.
He also educated that no hospital in Ghana had the right to keep dead bodies which had gun wounds, and only the Police hospital had the power to do that.
“If you hear of such issues, we must not take information from the Media, but the police station in that area, or the Media practitioner of the hospital which is alleged to have been treating victims, or the Medical director or the PRO of the hospital or any Big Person on duty.” he added
DSP Nketia’s comments is in the light of a statement said to have been issued by the Ghana Police Service to fuel speculations of a possible cover up.
