As part of activities to mark the 60th year anniversary of the Volta Hall, a health walk and fun games was held.
The health walk saw management, alumnae and students walk from the Hall to the Volta resource center while accompanied by a brass band.
At the Volta Resource Center, warden of the all-female hall of the University of Ghana, Dr Eureka Ahadjie-Adomako led participants of the health walk to praise and pray to God, believing that the project which is under completion will be ready for use in the coming years.
As part of the 60th anniversary, fun games were held at the Athletic Oval. Indoor games such as chess, oware, ludo, lime and spoon, sack race and musical chairs were played. There was also health screening exercise and aerobics.
There was a medical doctor, Dr Ralph Owusu, present to answer questions.
The 60th anniversary of Volta Hall is on the theme, nurturing the next generation of women leaders. Other activities earmarked to celebrate the 60th anniversary include an alumnae lecture, homecoming and thanksgiving service.
Volta hall was built in 1959 as the 4th hall of residence in the University of Ghana.
