Students of the University of Ghana have been advised to start serious learning now and not wait when it is just days for the commencement of exams.
Placement Coordinator at the University’s Careers and Counseling Centre, Edwina Paintsil, says that students are more likely to be stressed during the examination period because that is the time they do most of their learning.
She explained that waiting until exams period to do effective learning leads students to regularly take carbonated drinks to stay up for long.
Edwina Paintsil says that this behaviour by students goes a long way to affect the cognitive abilities of the students as well as their interpersonal relationships.
She added that the best way to retain academic information is to study under relaxed and stress-free conditions.
Speaking on what the Counselling Unit is doing to ensure that more students patronize the services of the centre, she highlighted that students are always reminded via text messages and emails about the availability of the Center.
The end of first semester examination of the 2019/2020 academic year is scheduled to start later this month.
