The Leadership Openness and Peoples Accountability (LOPA Legon) has said that that they are working tireless to ensure that the Electoral Commission of the of the University of Ghana SRC delivers on its mandate to organize a transparent election in April.
Students of the University of Ghana will on Wednesday April 10 go to the polls to elect new executives for its SRC.
The elected leaders will takeover from the Sylvester Amoako-led administration for the 2019/2020 administration.
Speaking to President of the student tink-tank group, Wise Datsomor, he disclosed plans by his outfit to organize debates among the candidates.
He added they were working hand-in-hand with the EC for the success of electoral process.
“We are ready for this upcoming election as there will be a debate involving all stakeholders especially candidates who have passed the vetting process and we will also engage other stakeholders like EC on the election venue and time”.
Mr. Datsomor also added that LOPA’s calendar regarding the UG SRC election will be in tandem with the University of Ghana SRC Electoral Commission.
“We do not have a specific date for the debate since we are working with the EC calendar to ensure a smooth run of the entire election process”.
Last year, LOPA-Legon served as the officials for the SRC elections, a feat Mr. Datsomor believes that helped in bringing sanity in the electoral process.
