A General Secretary Hopeful in the imminent University of Ghana Students Representative Council (UG-SRC) elections, Edwina Seidu, has pulled the plugs on her dreams of leading students of the premier University for the 2019/2020 academic year.
Edwina Seidu suddenly withdrew from the elections citing reasons of the demise of her father.
In a statement sighted by UniversNews, Edwina brought to the attention of the student populace that she was in a state of emotional turmoil for which reason she can’t continue her bid.
The statement reads. “To all my very supportive and wonderful TEAM MEMBERS, I am bereaved and aggrieved.
I have lost my father and will be absent for a while. It is required I go home and travel for his burial. For this reason, I am willingly withdrawing from the SRC race! (Any rumors aside these are all FALSE)
I really appreciate your great efforts and love through out this journey. May the good Lord replenish unto you all that you have sacrificed”.
Few weeks ago, rumors were rife that Edwina Seidu was not in good academic standing to contest in the election.
According to these rumors, her Grade Point Average (GPA) was below the 3.0 mark.
UniversNews understands that the resident of the Jean Nelson Aka Hall is working with another candidate to replace her in the SRC elections.
The University of Ghana SRC election is scheduled for Wednesday April 10, 2019.
