A man, believed to be in his late 20s, has been apprehended at the main Mensah Sarbah Hall after a failed attempt to steal a laptop belonging to a resident of the hall.
The incident occurred on the evening of Thursday, February 18, 2021.
The suspected thief is said to have entered the room of the student and picked the laptop, valued to cost about GHC 4,500.00
Unfortunately for him, students of the hall noticed his actions and stopped him from making away with the laptop.
The students subjected him to some beatings and whisked him to the Mensah Sarbah Hall Annex A.
Security personnel stepped in and rescued him from the students.
He has been taken into custody and investigations in the matter have commenced.
This is the first reported incident of theft in the University since the reopening of the school in January.
The last time such an incident occurred and was reported was in August 2020.
