The University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) has temporarily suspended the operations of the student access portal, MIS WEB for an emergency maintenance service to be conducted on their systems.
According to an email by the Head of End user support of UGCS, Ama Dadson, the unscheduled shutdown which took effect 11 AM Friday 1 2019, is to make way for University of Ghana Computing Systems (UGCS) to fix some “bugs” with the computer software.
“This is to alert you that as at 11:00 AM this morning, MIS Web has been temporarily taken offline for emergency maintenance.”
Owing to this students, staff and faculty members would not be able to access the service, register or add inputs.
“This means that our users will be unable to log into MIS Web for Student Registration and Examinations (entry of marks) etc.”
In the meantime, other arrangements have been put in place at the various halls to allow students get access to their rooms.
“In the meantime, students can report to the Halls where alternate arrangements have been made” – the notice said.
Meanwhile, UGCS says they are working round to clock to bring finality to the situation by the close of the day.
“The UGCS technical team is working with the vendors to solve the issues which we hope to have resolved by the close of the day”
Madam Dadson however put across that the university populace would be informed as and when the service is restored.
