Chairperson of Attakwa Foundation Ghana, an Islamic charity organisation from the University of Ghana Accra City Campus, Abdul Kadir, has called on Ghanaians to show love towards persons with disability.
According to Abdul Kadir, a positive attitude towards the disabled will help encourage and develop their confidence as well as increase their level of societal participation.
Abdul Kadir made this call during a donation made by the foundation to the Demonstration School for the Deaf (DEMODEAF) located in Mampong Akropong in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The Attakwa Foundation donated a fridge to the school to help make food storage easier since the school complained of facing challenges with food preservation and storage.
“We are here to donate to this school and to also share our love for the less privileged as a way of contributing to their happiness. We are doing this because of the fear of Allah and I encourage everybody to also show love and care to the less privileged in the society to help make them feel part of the society”
In an exclusive interview with Univers news, he added that the Attakwa Foundation is an organisation made up of Muslim students from the Accra City Campus with the main aim of helping the less privileged in society.
“We are made up of mainly Muslim students from the University of Ghana Accra City Campus and we mostly donate to the less privileged in the society which is our main aim as a way of putting smiles on their faces.
