His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II yesterday pledged to partner Apostle Kwadwo Safo in his quest of reforming the country for development through technology and research.
The Asantehene was speaking at the 38th Annual Technology Exhibition Show of Kristo Asafo Mission held in Awoshie, Accra at the Apostle Safo School of Arts and Sciences.
Commenting after a line-up of new KANTANKA innovations had been outdoored, Otumfuo invited the Apostle to Kumasi on a mission of building a Tech-Teaching Hub.
This, he expressed, will help instruct the next generation on practical science application.
As part of the call, His Majesty assured of collaboration with Apostle Dr. Ing. Safo to see the country transformed in a tech hub.
“Any land space of the Apostle’s desire within the Kumasi environs will be harnessed for the project”, he remarked.
This marks the second time an Asantehene has visited the annual technology exhibition show.
The Late Otumfuo Opoku Ware II graced the ceremony during 1985, the Silver Jubilee Year of his enstoolment.
In addition to school initiative, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II further expressed high satisfaction at the Kantanka products displayed.
These included the 3-tyre Sports Vehicle Made-in-Ghana, KANTANKA V8 Limousine, Large Armour Truck Prototype and KANTANKA Otumfour (World’s First Anti-Drinking Sensor Vehicle).
He further bought two Kantanka Pick-ups on the spot and urged all Ghanaians to patronize Made-In-Ghana goods especially KANTANKA Cars.
“China and India begun from prototype stages just like Apostle”, he said. “They had a conscious plan and did not import any goods they could make. Ghanaian citizens and government import everything from food to furniture to everything else then later complain of tough times/high standards of living. Why do we import Police Vehicles when KANTANKA exists?”
In attendance were thousands of observers from across the country, members of the Kristo Asafo Church, Air Force Marshals, Senior Lecturers of Renowned Public Universities of Ghana, Chiefs and Queens from across the country, Parliamentarians, Senior Minister of State OsafoMarfo, Minister for Science and innovation Dr. Frimpong Boateng and many others.
