Member of Parliament for the Okaikwei North Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Honorable Fuseini Issah has challenged the youth to take advantage of opportunities available to them.
Speaking at the climax of the youth week celebration of Greater Works Baptist Church (GWBC) in Achimota on Sunday, Hon. Fuseini said, he took advantage of the opportunities that presented themselves to him for which he has been able to rise up above most of his fellows.
Addressing the congregants, Hon. Fuseini stressed that there existed numerous opportunities in society that the youth could take advantage of.
“There are a lot of opportunities within our environment so let’s try to take advantages of them and invest in our future because if we don’t, in the future we’ll live to regret it” he said
“It is by grace that I got the opportunity to go to school and stay on my feet. I was fortunate to be able to take advantage of the opportunities that came my way and that is what is giving me the chance to be addressing you as the member of parliament of this constituency.” He added.
He further encouraged the youth to get involved in government’s flagship programme, the free SHS policy so as they can benefit from it.
“Today, we have government push-through policies like the Free Senior High School education. …empirically, it is proven that countries that have made strives within their development agenda laid emphasis on education…the youth today will have to take advantage of this policy to become responsible citizens in the future.”
Hon. Issah Fuseini also advised parents to take keen interest in the development of their wards as failure to do will, in future, haunt them.
“It is our responsibility [as parents] to train our children the way it should go and not renege on our responsibilities when they are young”
