Adisadel College has progressed to the semifinal of this year’s National Science and Maths Quiz after a narrow win over St. Peter’s SHS and Ola SHS, Ho.
St. Peter’s was leading the contest until the fourth round when they lost some points for answering questions wrongly.
Adisadel took advantage of Persco’s errors and led the contest for the first time.
At the end of the fourth round, they were 5-points clear at the top.
Even though it was almost impossible for Ola SHS, Ho, who was making their first appearance in the quarterfinals, to over the two boys schools, they managed to score six additional points in the fifth round after answering two riddles correctly.
St. Peter’s, in need of at least six points to deny Adisadel a place in the semis, attempted the third riddle.
They answered correctly and reduced the point gap between themselves and Adisadel College to 2.
Now eager to finish the job, St. Peter’s SHS attempted the last riddle but go it wrong.
Adisadel College, a one-time winner of the competition, will now face two-time champions Achimota School and Keta SHTS in the semifinal.
