Presbyterian Boys, Legon, have booked a place at the grand final of the 2019 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
They have prevented Cape Coast giants and one-time champions Adisadel College from making a fourth consecutive appearance at the final.
Two-time winners, Opoku Ware, although have been impressive in this year’s competition, were quite missing in Monday’s contest.
From the penultimate round, the Accra-based school took charge of the contest, leaving Opoku Ware and the boys in Black and White uniform fighting for second and third.
The five-time champions are now close to being champions for a record six times.
The boys in blue displayed fantastic energy throughout the contest and put it beyond the reach of the others by Round Four of Five.
The scores ended at Presec Legon, 48pts – Adisadel College, 34pts and Opoku Ware School, 31pts.
PRESEC will face the respective winners of the Tepa SHS vs. Wesley Girls’ High School vs. St. Peter’s SHS contest and Keta SHTS vs. St. Augustine’s College vs. Ghana Sec Tech Sch. contests.
The grand final will be held at the National Theatre on Thursday, July 11.
