Eleven persons, aspiring to lead the Legon Chapter of the Graduate Students’ Association of Ghana for the 2020/2021 academic year, will appear before a five-member vetting panel today Monday, May 18.
The vetting panel is being chaired by David Hodgson, a presidential candidate in 2019 Legon-GRASAG election.
A notice from the Electoral Commissioner, Jacob Johnson Attakpah, says that the vetting will not be open to the public in order to preserve the sanctity of the process.
However, the proceedings, he says, will be recorded and broadcast on Univers TV afterwards.
“Owing to the fact that quarantining the aspirants will be impossible and to preserve the sanctity of the process, the session shall not be open to the public however, proceedings will be recorded and broadcasted on Univers TV afterwards,” part of the notice reads
Three aspirants, Samuel Danquah Amaning, Samuel Zumah Mwinzumah, and Emmanuel Tabil, are eyeing the office of President.
Joyce Ohene Kwapong and Millicent Tackie-Otoo are vying for the General Secretary office.
Bright Owusu and Samuel Nii Aduamoah Quaye are aspiring for the Treasurer office whilst Samuel Ayensu Afful and Joseph Baidoo are aspiring to be the next Organizing Secretary of the Association.
Beryl Emefa Avudzivi and Beatrice Boateng are aspiring for the Women’s Commissioner Office.
