Senior Hall Tutor of the Alexander Adum Kwapong Hall, Dr. Kwame Asamoah has urged members of the hall to partake in tomorrow’s Junior Common Room elections.
The elections will determine the new leadership to steer the affairs of the hall at the students level, succeeding the Sellasie Ahadzie administration.
Speaking to UniversNews, Dr. Kwame Asamoah appealed to hall members to select the next crop of hall leaders based on their policies.
He also the candidates not to disappoint hall residents when elected into office.
“Leadership is very important and you don’t just choose leaders. you choose leaders who can make a difference and therefore I urged the students to listen to the contestants with regards to their policies.
I expect the next crop of leaders to be able to come up with something to build on what others have done. I expect the leadership to be able to work with management to make life comfortable for its residents”
Generally, there is growing apathy among students with regards to students politics and leadership.
According to some reports from the hall, some students, residing in the hall are not aware of the forthcoming.
4 persons will be vying for various positions in tomorrow’s JCR elections.
The only office being keenly contested is that of the President where Divine Edem Kwadzodeh and Samuel Osei-Agyapong are the only contenders.
For the office of the Financial Secretary and the Organizing Secretary, Lance Amoasi and David Selassie Kwadzo Abotchie are going unopposed.
The 2018/2019 Kwapong JCR elections is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, 2019
