Kelvin Quansah Osae and Nana Yaa Gyamfi (Team Quansah) have taken lead in the Alexander Adum Kwapong Hall JCR elections which took place on Friday, May 23, 2021, at the East-wing of the Hall.
Residents of the hall had to endure a lengthy waiting period which spanned close to four hours, as counting and sorting of ballots caused undue delays.
The elections were conducted in pursuant to Article 11 of the Alexander Adum Kwapong JCR constitution.
On a day where rejected ballots were on a record high, Team Quansah gathered 417 of the 823 votes cast, to earn a slim advantage over Caleb Kadu and Samuel Ackom (Team Kadu) who amassed 370 votes.
Ms. Emmanuella Torgbuivi who ran unopposed for the General Secretary position, had 669 electorates vouching for her against 126 electorates who cast ‘NO’ votes.
Sedinam Gbeku in line for Organizing secretary slot, Pierrieta open hundred-vote gap over Dam-pare
In the race for Organizing Secretary, Ms. Sedinam Adzo Gbeku took a giant leap after recording 429 votes as compared to the 365 votes which went the way of her opponent Ms. Randa Ekuban.
In the battle for Financial Secretary, Maame Aba Dampare trailed by a hundred and four votes, having garnered 350 votes, to the 454 votes achieved by Ms. Pierrieta Alaglo.
Vying for the Sports secretary position was King George Opoku Amuabeng who had the luxury of running unoppposed.
The advantage was rife in the votting trend, with 669 voters giving him the nod, relative to 126 voters who refused to do so.
The second phase of the elections is scheduled for the second to third week of June, where residents of Alexander Adum Kwapong hall in level 100 and 400 will also cast their ballot.
The election was presided over by Nana Kofi Ampong Darkwa, Electoral Commissioner of Alexander Adum Kwapong Hall JCR.
