The Katanga Alumni Association has called on the top management officials of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology to abstain from all manners of dealings that are geared towards undermining the work of the committee set up by the Chancellor of the KNUST, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, to investigate the factors that led to the October uprising on the university’s campus.
In an interaction with Univers News, the Katanga Alumni Association President, Mr. Nana Agyei said that the association only recognises the legitimacy of the Otumfuo’s committee and not any other committee of inquiry set up by other management members of the University.
He sighted some recent summons of some students to the University’s disciplinary committee as indication of the University’s management attempt to undermine the integrity and progress of the Otumfuo’s committee.
The Katanga Alumni Association President further assured of the cooperation of the association only with the Otumfuo’s committee in matters of October’s uprising that closed down the University temporarily.
The Chancellor of the University, the Asantehehe Otumfuo Osei Tutu II will inaugurate his committee of inquiry tommorow, February 14 2019.
