Immediate past president of the Students Representative Council of the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Emmanuel Kumah, had a torrid experience earlier today as students of the Institute hooted at him for alleged misappropriation of students funds during his administration.
At a handing over ceremony for the new elected SRC President, Joseph Agbezuke, to take over the reigns of leadership, students, who were present, could not keep their cool when Emmanuel Kumah mounted the podium to deliver his handling over speech.
According to our reporter who was at the event, Emmanuel Kumah’s speech lasted for less than 3 minutes and he left the programme after his speech.
He was greeted with chants from the students who claimed that he had abused his office.
“You could barely hear him delivering the speech. The music was loud and the students were screaming at him too. When he was going to read his speech, the students started shaming him and so after the speech, he just disappeared” our reporter say.
Many allegations have been leveled against Emmanuel Kumah.
Whilst some have attacked him alone, others believe the entire administration is nothing to write about.
Recently, the Office of the Women’s Commission, sent a petition to the Dean of Students Affairs, requesting for an external auditor to audit the accounts of the SRC – a move some students believe that it was an indication that all was not well internally among the executives.
Some students of the Institute have also taken to social media to register their displeasure about the Emmanuel Kumah administration.
I spit on his administration. They existed like they didn’t exist. They insulted the intelligence of the whole student body with their fearless corruption. We can’t be angry enough and Kumah and his administration must answer to every single pesewa owned by the student else we have failed ourselves. The little said about this guy, the better. I was really expecting him to prove me wrong but Alas! I’m forever glad I never supported him,
