Ghana’s COVID-19 positive count hits 6,486; recoveries now 1,951

Ghana’s positive case count of the novel coronavirus has risen to 6,486, according to figures from the Ghana Health Service released on Friday morning.

Number of persons who have recovered has also shot up to 1,951.

This means that 217 new COVID-19 cases were recorded on Thursday with 53 more people recovering from the disease.

In Ghana persons are declared to have recovered after double negative tests to the virus after treatment.

Meanwhile, no new deaths have been recorded, leaving the death toll at 31.

The cases in Ghana are recorded in 13 of its 16 regions.

Greater Accra Region – 4,699

Ashanti Region – 988

Central Region – 287

Western Region – 195

Eastern Region – 106

Western North Region – 57

Volta Region – 44

Northern Region – 34

Oti Region – 26

Upper East Region – 26

Upper West Region – 21

North East Region – 2

Bono Region – 1

Savannah Region – 0

Ahafo Region – 0

Bono East Region – 0
