Ghana’s case count for the novel coronavirus is now 9,462 as of Saturday June 6, 2020 after 294 new cases were confirmed.
The new cases were recorded in the Greater Accra (77), Eastern (1), Central (26), Western (61), Ashanti (127), Western North (1), and Bono East (1) regions.
An additional 90 people have been declared to have recovered after treatment, bringing Ghana’s recovery toll to 3,547.
The number of persons who have succumbed to the disease has risen to 44.
These were indicated in the Ghana Health Service’s latest update on the coronavirus situation in Ghana.
Regional distribution of cases
The Greater Accra region continues to be the country’s epicentre of the disease, recording 6,282 positive cases.
Ashanti Region follows with 1,645 cases.
The Ahafo Region is the only area that has no recorded a case of the virus.
